This last Saturday we wanted to do something different, so we drove west to Boca Chica Naval Station to watch the free air show.
Unfortunately, we didn't get the full show promised. There were no Blue Angels or fire demonstrations. We're guessing that's due to the budget cutbacks! Way to go, Congress! Keep up the good work boys!
A friend of ours, Art, who used to be our boat neighbor in the harbor moved out to the Boca Chica marina a month ago. Much cheaper - he's retired military (pilot, to be exact), so he gets special treatment. We figured while we were in his neck on the woods we'd stop in to say hi. He was on his way to an offshore island with some other retired military boats, and turned around once he got wind we were headed out to see him. Guess we're more fun!
